Every anodized razor starts with a bead blasted satin finish. We then apply a light polish which makes the resulting anodized color more vibrant. This polish is not a mirror finish like we achieve on our stainless razors; it's a light polish to add shine without removing much material.

The pieces are then thoroughly cleaned and chemically etched to remove the natural Titanium Oxide layer. Finally, the part is placed in an electrolytic bath and a voltage is applied to the part, creating the final anodized finish. The color depends on the specific voltage applied.

The anodized finishes are beautiful, but do not impact the performance of the razor. These are cosmetic finishes.

Oil from fingers will create a smudged look and distort the appearance of the color making it darker and less vibrant. The smudging itself can be quite varied and beautiful. Use soap and a microfiber cloth to remove the oils and return the finish to its original state.

Follow our standard cleaning protocol to maintain the anodized finish.

Scratches will remove the colored layer. Color on the top cap threads may wear due to repeated use. This is normal and will not impact the rest of the finish.
